Companies should not necessarily dismiss the option in-house thermoforming just because of volumes.

Thermoforming lines carry some of the highest price tag of any packaging equipment. It is not surprising, therefore, that some companies make the assumption that unless they are running a high throughput line dedicated to one product, making their own packs won't be financially feasible. However, to be guided solely by volumes when making the decision as to whether or not to invest in in-house thermoforming equipment is, some argue, misguided.
